A hike in the Coxcomb mountains of Joshua Tree national park.
This was a prep hike for me for New Zealand. I had my NZ pack and gear on me. Seven miles with 35 extra pounds on me. It was a learning experience. The hike up was through gentle washes and sand. The hike down was through dry waterfalls and over large boulders. My ankle held up well, no doubt because of my awesome new hiking boots. It was a long rewarding hike from early in the day until late at night, ending with some star pics.
